~A pack meeting was called, everyone was to attend. So that's how they all came to be sitting in the back great room of the big house. Kael entered and moved to the front of the room, Tris and Kola near, as the rest flanked around their respective alpha's and packmates. Kael was the one to speak first, eyes flashing red for a moment as he spoke.~

As most of you know, last night there was a baby fox found in the woods with it's mother, dead already. She was hunted down by vampires. The simple fact they chased her so near our territory and then to kill her just as close, it's practically a declaration of war. Lark has been in touch with his family trying to find some leads about the murders at the townhouse. There's not way that the two aren't connected. It reeks to much of each other.

~Kael grew quiet for a minute and then went on.~

We can treat this as an act of war, but, to be honest, I kinda think that whoever is behind this, wants that. But, that being said, I'm tired of sitting back, playing detective and waiting for the next shoe to drop. So, I'm considering going to meet the Savannah Vampires. I think they need to be reminded of who they are fucking with. Unless anyone else had any better ideas?

~His eyes flickered around the room, opening this up for ideas and possible debate. It was unprecedented for an alpha to do such a thing. But nothing about Kael was really ordinary. It also gave the other alpha's, shifters and vampires to voice their concerns. In the end it was Kael would make the decision, but obviously he was willing to listen to those around him.~

You're just walk in there and do what? Flash some fang and claw for them?

~Eli was leaning against the snake, snarking at the alpha before him. He rolled his eyes and then pushed up just a bit. Kael's brow arched at the vampire, looking almost unimpressed.~

Something like that... just with more finesse and less claw.

~Shaking his head, Eli sighed.~

Who are you going to take with you then?

-Tris was leaned back in own chair looking like a badass bitch eyeing Kael wearily as the big bad alpha. Kola looked sort of relaxed, tattoed and rough and a bit wild, and no way an alpha. Maddy was sitting next to Cash looking a bit relaxed as well though he semi wanted to stand near Kael as his mate, he didn't have that deep inclination since he was bitten and not born. He only cared about the outcome. Tris growled when Eli spoke-

Yeah ... and I think that'd be fucking persuasive if they see our war form ... it's always worked on the other leaches I've showed it too ...

-Sigh kept Eli close nuzzling into him easily not saying a thing. Kola smiled a bit slowly-

Well I think Kael, myself and Tris are going for sure. Dane you should come as well... we need a vampire and you'll make a good showing. Reyes you should be there too.

-West frowned a touch-

You're just bringing the alphas and muscle. First, it's not smart for all of you to be in the same place. If a trap is laid ... we can't have all of you wounded. Second ... Kael said this was about finess ... not muscle. I should be there ... Lark too ... Tris and Kola should maybe stay back. Kael ... Luke ... Reyes ... Dane ... Me and Lark should go ... maybe Eli and Sigh as well ... they were the first targeted. The first attacked ... maybe seeing the vampire's reaction to them would tell us if they were the ones to orchestrate this.

-He looked in Lark's direction questioning quietly what the gypsy thought-

~Baring his fangs, Eli sneered at Tris, but then West was speaking and he kinda looked amused. Lark was nodding to what West was saying, but again, it was the vampire that spoke up.~

He's right. You can't go in there all brute force. It would be declaring war and you'd not all make it out alive. Send in nothing but alphas and muscle would just make them angry. You have to play their game, Kaelan. They won't just be bowled over with your face and muscle. They will expect a certain amount of respect from you.... all of you.

~Liam who was sitting back with Dane leaned forward just a bit.~

He's right. In London, the vamps and the pack get along tenuously, but that's because of established borders and the respect that each one gives the other. The alpha, elders and the vampire leaders meet a few years, something more sometimes less, to discuss and renegotiate lines of territory. The vampires here will expect the same, I would assume. Didn't your dad deal with them?

~Kael frowned at that question.~

I... Don't know for sure. I would think maybe yes, but I don't remember.

~He frowned, shifting suddenly a bit, the wolf hating to show any weakness, even infront of those he trusted. His eyes flickered around the room, landing on Maddy before falling to Kola. But Lark spoke up.~

West is right. You need to go in there with muscle, but also brains. I personally don't think I should go. I think we need one emissary out here and one inside.

~He glanced at Tris when he said that, knowing she'd understand easily that he was kinda accepting her proposal. The witch was about to go on, when Eli spoke up.~

It should be Kael and his emissary, they won't understand the idea of so many alpha's in one place all with their own say. Luke, James, Dane, Me and Sigh. I wouldn't bring any other shifters. The less they know about what and who you have here, the better. Don't show them your hand, keep your cards close to your vest. You have to PLAY the GAME, Kael. And if you don't now how to play it, you're screwed... James knows how to play the game, that's why he goes, Luke is all muscle, that's why he goes. Me and Sigh are there for shock value and to see what they know and what they don't. Dane has already made contact, so he'll be expected... The rest will have to cool their heels elsewhere.

~Cash snorted at that, but it was Lucky who spoke up.~

You seem real fucking sure about this.

~And there was a bit of accusation in his tone, as the cat pulled in a bit closer to James, not liking the idea of the wolf going into a den of vampires, or having to trust this one.~

-West smiled a bit when he was backed up by Lark and faintly surprised when Eli backed him up as well. The blind emissary looked most shocked when Lark refereed to himself an emissary as well. He could see Tri's aura light up and he knew instantly who he was emissary to and it shocked the hell out of him. Tris grinnd faintly and leaned back relaxing a bit after Eli's little barbs. Once Lark accepted to be her emissary it was a big step foreward. Maddy leaned in frowning when he could see Kael in distress. He smiled a bit reassuring at the big alpha. Tris glanced at Luke and frowned not liking the thought of sending him without but she nodded slowly-

It does seem like a good plan ... I don't mind a tenuous truce but they need to appologize for getting so close to our fucking territory and attacking a shifter without cause ... that won't be tolerated ...

-She looked at Kael to make sure he understood she didn't want him kissing ass. James smiled a touch at Eli ... -

That was almost a compliment vampire ... I'm touched ... but I agree as well with whose going. It'll be a good show of force but not so much as to put them on edge ... as long as Sigh can behave himself as well ...

-The snake was wound around Eli staring off into space before his eyes rose slowly to land on the older wolf-

If they don't attack Eli ... I behave ...

-James glanced at Lucky when the younger jaguar spoke ... -

We're not sure but it's the best we can do right now. We'll be fine ... in my experience vampires are notoriously selfish and value self preservation. They won't attack us without cause ... they might woun us but with all of us ... we'll kill many of them. I doubt they'll take the risk ...

-He nuzzled a bit into Lucky to reassure the cat. Dane pushed up slowly ... -

Kael. We should discuss territory and rules ... if it does all go well we should go prepared to have an idea of what we want and feel we deserve ...

~Some of the others actually stared at Lark with announcing his sudden loyalty to Tris. But that would have to be talked about later, or not. They had obviously already discussed the terms. Lark smiled a bit at Tris and Eli flashed a grin at James.~

Oh it was... it's a rare thing, cherish it, won't you?

~Kael rolled his eyes a bit at them, looking at Tris and giving her a nod. He wasn't about to go in there and kiss ass. He was on board with the maiming and killing idea as well. But his attention went to Dane. He nodded to the vampire.~

So West, James, Luke, Sigh, Eli, Dane and I are going. The rest of you will sit tight until we figure this out, we're good right?

~He waited for the others to nod and then he nodded for Dane to come with him. He touched James as well as he passed, needing the wolf's advice. He knew Maddy would follow as would Eli and Sigh. Liam followed as well. He went to the office, laid out a map of their territory and turned on the desk lamp.~

This is all the O'Niel territory. They killed the fox here... less than a 100 yards from our land.

~He glanced up at Dane and then to James.~

If you want my honest opinion. I want to burn them out of my city. No matter what the excuse is, they attacked us first. Once going after Eli and Sigh and secondly, killing that fox anywhere near my land. It makes the wolf want to tear out throats. So before we go in there, I need you all to know that I'm not going to bare my fucking throat to them or beg or kiss their ass. They will know that they've threatened me and my pack and it's me they should be making amends too...

~Maddy would see the tension in the wolf's shoulders. Kael didn't show the others this side. He had to stay neutral when he was infront of the whole pack, but here, now, he was expressing how he was honestly feeling.~

-James flashed a smile at Eli-

I'll write about it in my journal tonight love ...

-Tris relaxed when Kael nodded content they were on the same page with this. She didn't mind she wasn't there as long as the one that did represent her spoke with her words as well. It was all done and the others sort of dispersed as the main group got together in the study. Dane stared down taking a red pen and marking spots he knew the vampires claimed or hung out in quiet a lot ... before taking another pencile and marking a sort of line between the two-

This should be sort of territory ...

-He listened to ael before sighing-

Kael ... I understand that ... but starting a war with them is dangerous. They are dangerous ... it'd better to try and work out a truce because honestly unless we get alot bigger as a pack and extend the territory ... if we burn these vampires out ... more will come ... and we don't fully know it was them ... we got that one dead vampire but it's not one I've seen before ... I don't know if it is them ...

-Maddy moved and wound his arm around Kael's arm leaning his head against his shoulder frowning a bit-

Lucky has a point ... is this really safe for you guys to go in ... what if it is a trap and they do attack ...

-James stared at the fox a moment before he looked at Kaelan-

No ass kissing. They need to know we don't fear them but going in without showing too much teeth will show our strength. It's young pack that has go in all all baring teeth. We need to show we find them such a little threat we don't need to flex our muscle. We have to show them some respect ... not ass kissing ... just basic respect that doesn't preclude us tearing out their throats of they get too close to our territory again. Having them here isn't a total disadvantage ... if hunters come it's nice to have a buffer ... another target ...

-Sigh just leaned into Eli looking pensive but he said nothing. He didn't much care what the decision was to be honest. West stood by the table and felt out the map a little bit .... how he saw anything no one knew ... but he glanced at Kael-

We should pick a neutral ground to meet shouldn't we?

~Kael listened as they all spoke, shifting so his arm went around Maddy and tugged the fox closer, fingers making soft little circles over his lower back.~

Neutral territory for sure. We don't want to go into theirs and I don't want them near here. For now we are giving them the benefit of doubt. But I don't want to give them any upper hands. I hear what you're all saying. I won't go in baring my teeth and calling for blood. I'll also not go in baring my throat.

~His eyes focused on James.~

As you said...

~He moved to the table and looked at the line Dane had drawn. He nodded his head.~

I know a place where we can meet that's neutral. It would seem that the original territory left downtown and the tourist areas as neutral. There's a restaurant, the Pirate House. It's got private back rooms. It also has several escape routes and it's pretty public. We'd all have to be morons to attack one another there, not without outing us to the human race.

~He looked over to West to see if the emissary was agreeing with the choice. And then he cocked his head to look at the others.~

Dane, If they agree, let them set the day and time... and then tell Liam so he can get the reservation together. Tell them we want to negotiate territory.

~He considered that for a moment.~

Tell them about the vampires and the fox. Explain that we are sure that it's not them, but that we'd appreciate there help in tracking down the vampire the felt the need to slight us.

~Eli's brow arched watching them, leaning into the snake as a smile crept to his lips. Liam pushed up, nodding.~

Let's go call them...

~His hand slipped around Dane and pulled him out. Eli sighed dramatically and turned, tugging Sigh with him.~

Just let me know when we are leaving.

~It left Kael, Maddy, West and James looking over the map and watching the others depart.~

So tell me how your alpha in London dealt with the vampires.

~Kael dropped into the chair behind the desk and stared up at James.~

-Maddy buried into his mate letting one hand rest on his chest as he stared down at the map listening to the others. James nodded easily when Kael looked at him. Dane stared up after he'd drawn the lines nodding easily as he picked up his cellphone-

I'll give them a call now ...

-He motioned for Liam to follow him as they slipped out of the room to set up a date and time. He needed to impress upon the other vampires that they were displeased with the attack but that they didn't blame them, drop some hints, and listen for the lies. Sigh flashed a grin down at Eli enjoying how bored the vampire looked with everything. He tugged him out and down to their bedroom to discuss what had gone down and to enjoy one another. Maddy was still pressed into Kaelan as James moved round the desk and pulled out a bottle of scotch he'd hidden as he poured himself and the alpha a drink. West sat down as well as the fouresome discussed the future. James sighed-

Learning from a bloody history ... we had once torn each other apart at every turn but we learned from Germany. The Berlin Wall didn't always just seperate humans and their politics ... it seperated vampires and werewolves. Just around the time it came down full on war was declared and it was bloody. I mean, we lost whole packs, old old wolves, and the vampires did the same. They lost vampires that had weathered the inquisition ...

-He leaned back-

My grandfather called a secret meeting with some of the eldest vampires. I think they were all shaken to reality ... before they could toss us young wolves ... or bitten wolves which were even more expendable at the problem ... but suddenly the elders realized they were going to die as well ...

-He snorted a bit cynically as he took a sip-

It pushed them to draw lines ... like you are doing now.

-He leaned in a bit slowly-

My alpha took that terriory seriously. He dealt with the head vampire with respect ... I saw the way they spoke to one another. I was often in on the meetings. Vampires dance around words ... they never commit ... I think it's a tactic to piss us off ... since we like firm words and firm commitments. Don't lose your temper ... just discuss ... calm ... almost bored. You show them respect ... show them we can divide this city equally between the two of you ... fair ... and in the best interest of both parties since we can hold off other intruders but we gotta draw out the truth. If any of them are involved in these attacks ... we need to find out. If it's the alpha of their doing a concentrated attack we need to impress upon him what a terrible idea it is ... if it's behind his back ... we gotta draw them away from the group and end em ... whoever crosses on our territory from now on doesn't ever make it home

-West frowned softly-

Whatever vampire blood this witch is using ... it's one who hates us ... we need to be careful ...

~Kael sat listening to James as the wolf talked. He sighed, nodding.~

No, I get why they'd want to stop a war. There's been way to much blood. On both ends. And the hunters, they don't just hunt us. And they don't seem to ever stop coming around.

~Luke was listening to all of this. He spoke up then.~

It's not just in Europe. It was here too. Or the drawing borders. When Tris' father was alive, he used to talk about it. How when you are in a city, a pack has to share their land with the vampires. Leeches.. he said Leeches... but... since we were in such a small town, with such a big area for the pack, you don't have that. We knew that if we went into the closest city, where vampires had any hold, we were to keep our heads down. We were on their land then. But there was obviously a form of respect there, because we went there and we saw them sometimes. But we never crossed them and they left us alone.

~Kael nodded as Luke finished speaking and then he ran a hand over his head.~

okay... lets get some rest.

~He stood, knowing he was going to have to keep his cool when deal with these vampires and yet they'd already slighted him, or it felt like they had. He just had a feeling, as if everyone tested him, so why wouldn't they test him too. They left, all the tension rolling through him. It wasn't just the attack on the fox, the baby, the set up of Sigh and Eli. It was how all of this was affecting the entire fucking pack. The bickering and in pack fighting and frustration was driving him a bit insane. But he needed to try and rest and kind of just wanted to be alone, with Maddy for a night.~

~When Dane appeared, telling him he had the day set up, just the next evening away and Liam was on it about the room, Kael felt a little better, slightly better that they had agreed. They had a day to relax before they had to meet. But it wasn't relaxing, instead it was stressful, nerves shot in anticipation. But finally the time came and they were climbing into the car. Kael had Maddy against him as he leaned on the back of the car. His head was buried into the fox's neck, inhaling his scent. He wasn't speaking, but Maddy could feel the tension keeping Kael's shoulders stiff. He hated leaving Maddy like this, but he also didn't want him to come with, afraid of what would happen. Quinn was not any happier, crowded near West and fucking pissed that he wasn't allowed to go. But shortly, they were in the cars, just the group that was to come. There was another group following, stopping just on the edge of being to close. It was a little safety net.~

~They pulled up infront of the old restaurant, parking and climbing out. Kael was dressed well, but he looked like a wolf in designer clothes. He'd let Maddy and James pick out the clothes and it suited him some how. He looked like a predator, graceful and strong. He looked like an alpha. And the pack that came in with him, well they looked predatory as well. There was no doubt that they were deadly. The host took them to the private room in the back, a long table set up. Kael took a seat on one side, in the middle, the others fanning out to his side. And that's when the vampires showed. Kael stood up watching them glide in all stoney grace.~

-Maddy kept his arms wound around the big alpha. He ran his fingers through the thick black hair feeling the tension as the bigger boy just buried his head against him. He shut his own eyes for a moment. They were still fighting, tension was high in the house, but in this moment he set it aside cause he was his mate and he loved him more than anything. He gripped his shirt, balling it up in his hands, as he claimed his lips but said nothing just pulling back and letting him go. He frowned crossing his arms looking nervous and worried and in pain to see him out of his sight going off to meet some homocidal freaks. West had his own arms wound around Quinn but he grinned a bit at the coyote-

I'll be ok ... I'm emissary ... this is my job ... and they don't scare me ...

-He was putting on a brave face for the coyote knowing he was pissed to not be allowed to go but truth was West preferred he stay back. This required some delicacy and he knew the moment some vampire looked at him the wrong way Quinn would wolf out, so to speak, and cause a fucking war. They did all move in tandem and it was a bit frightened. Kael was sitting down in the middle looking like the fucking kind he was. Luke and James were sitting down beside him. Sigh was in the darkness a bit with Eli near him but he was watching carefully, the snake more off in the corner a bit to survey the scene. Eli and Dane were standing behind the wolf. When the vampires glided in Dane moved in forward and bowed his head a touch-

Matthew ... I'm glad you could make it ...

-He pulled back slowly as the vampires moved and sat down as well, well the main vampire, the others remained standing looking a bit on edge to be close to so many. The eldest of them and the one clearly in charge stared at Kaelan-

Kaelan right? I knew your father ... I was sorry to hear of what the hunters did to your whole pack ...

-It could be a sign of respect but it could also just be the vampires' way to rub salt in his wounds. Under the table James touched Kael's hand and squeezed it to remind him to calm down-

~Kael held onto Maddy for a moment, even after the kiss, cupping his chin and staring at him. There was still tension there, it wasn't going to just go away. But right now, they were both putting that aside. Quinn gave a low growling huff at West's words but he didn't say anything, just shaking his head. When they left, the whole group felt the weight of it. Cash tugged Maddy along inside to play COD so they could maybe not think about what they are doing.~

~Kaelan watched the vampires come in. His eyes flickered towards Dane and then back to the vampire before him. Nodding he spoke.~

Thank you, it was a shock, but we've recovered.

~He leaned back a bit, sizing up the vampire before him.~

I know that all of you are about formality, I understand that, but a murder was committed on the edge of my territory last night...

~He allowed that to settle in as he moved a bit forward.~

~His brow cocked and he just stared at Mathew. For a moment it was just silent and the tension was heavy. But Mathew, who would have known Kaelan's father, would see the father in the son. The older O'Niel didn't play around either and neither was Kael. And Kaelan was the one to break the tension now.~

We are looking for maybe some vampires that are new to the area, or if you've heard of anything like that.

~He set his arms on the table, his brow furrowed and then he went on.~

We both know that the hunters are getting more and more brazen. The woman who was murdered, she was a fox, and she had at one point in time worn a collar. I know you understand what that means. I'm starting to feel that maybe there are quiet a few who think that this city is weak. That my pack and your family can't hold the territory anymore. Their attacks on mine are just a fore sight into them coming for you as well. They tried to wipe out mine, they'd have come after yours if we'd all been burned in that house.

-Maddy buried into Kaelan holding on to him a bit longer feeling his heart torn out as Kaelan left him. He left with Cash frowning a bit as the two sat and played something, did something, anything but focus on how so much of their pack could be murdered that night. So far things were progressing well. Dane was impressed with how Kaelan handled himself, handled the vampires. He crossed his arms and watched Kaelan answer the vampire elder easily. Mathew nodded slowly once the tension was broken-

We will search out new vampires ... especially onces that haven't introduced themselves as they should ...

-It was a dig at Dane but the vampire let it go ... -

Kaelan is right. We will be strongest if we come together ... open lines of communication so we're not taken unaware. If these vampires attacked so close to wolf territory ... so brazen ... they are a threat to us all ...

-West stood slowly and unfurled the map pushed it out slowly. He stared right at the vampire freaking out some of the younger vampires as the blind emissary seemed to be able to see somehow. He stared across at the vampire before he sat down slowly-

We thought from this tragedy we should open up new lines of communication ... to show them we are not divided ...

~Kael's brow arched, but he ignored the dig, watching as West stood and laid out the map. He could tell West made the vampires uncomfortable, he kinda liked that it did. He watched as Mathew looked at the map and then pushing it back towards them.~

This is the map of the current territories.

~Kael nodded.~

Correct.

~Mathew's brow arched.~

So what are we negotiating then?

~Kael smiled then, stood, lay his hand on the map, finger right on the spot the fox had been killed. He slid it back to Mathew.~

There was a fox, killed here, last night. She was running, bleeding and hunted down by vampires.

~Mathew straightened at that, eyes narrowing. He stood up as well, leaning over the table too.~

And I said, we would look into finding any vampire that hasn't introduced themselves to us.

~Kaelan smiled then, but it was all sharp angles and way to toothy.~

And what if the vampires that were involved were already introduced to you?

~Mathew frowned then, standing up for a moment straighter.~

Are you suggesting that it was one of our own that attacked this fox? That would slight you like that and cause a huge problem for me?

~Kael's smile grew then a bit wider.~

Actually, yeah... I am.

~Mathew snorted derisively, eyes narrowing.~

You're treading on very thin ice, my very young alpha.

~Kael shrugged, pulling up, arms crossing over his chest. He could feel the tension rolling across, waves of irritation and anger coming off everyone, but Kaelan just stared unimpressed at the vampire.~

What we have to negotiate is what kind of action I'm going to have to take to not feel like your contempt is so blatant.

~Mathew stared at Kael and then Kael leaned in.~

I can smell the disgust rolling off all of you. But what's interesting is my pack has two of your kind, considered to be pack. We've accepted them and yet, you and yours have my kind as slaves. My pack isn't here to beg for your sanctuary or to appeal for your charity. I'm here, with my pack to keep from there being a war. Now, what are YOU going to do to ensure that a war isn't started?

-The tension was rolling thick, the moment Kael said "what we have tonegioate is what kind of action I'm going to take", one of the vampire's eyes narrowed and he made a noise of irritation as he moved suddenly. Kael would feel it, the attack, but before he had to defend himself the vampire was down on the ground and Sigh had one boot on his throat looking down a bit bored. The snake let his teeth slowly, his eyes golden strange slits, alien, so much more then a wolf's-

You reek of fear ... it's delicious. You like feeding on foxes do you? I love feeding on vampires ... just ... swallowing them whole. I've always wondered ... how long are you awake for the whole thing ...

-He spoke it all so casually before he pressed his boot down a bit more to inflict pain cause of course the vampire didn't breath-

You're attack upon my mate ... I ... will not forgive ...

-Sigh's eyes narrowed. Dane nudged Eli to pull back the snake from killing the vampire. West leaned a bit into Kael-

You barely have control over the vampires in this room, elder. We will not tolerate any more disrespect. You call Kaelan young but this pack ... our pack... requires an alpha with so much strength and wisdom that is not fathomable to you. A unique pack that exists nowhere else. A pack that cannot be understood by you ... cannot be guessed ... cannot be controlled

-West's eyes seemed to glow almost, a faint echo, an aura around him that looked for a moment if you stared in the wrong way, like a wolf. Dane smiled slowly-

I told you Mathew. We wish to live in harmony ... in peace ... the question you must answer is if you would like to share in that ... or not.

~Eli's lips curled into a smile when Kael spoke like that and then Sigh was on the vampire and the smile turned into a sharp smirk.~

That's hot....

~He was eyeing the snake up and down. But when Mathew would look back at Kael, he'd see the wolf had his own smile on his lips, small and confident. He let West and Dane speak and then he took his eyes off the vampire to look at Sigh. His expression changed, from one of wolfish intent to trust and respect.~

Sigh, if you'd kindly let him up, I think we've proven our point.

~It wasn't a command, more of a request and then those hazel eyes flashed blood red to land on the vampire again, expression growing cold.~

I think I asked you a question... What are you going to do to ensure that a war isn't started?

~Mathew looked, shocked actually, which was a hard thing to do to a vampire. His eyes had widened, but then they narrowed as he schooled his expression back to indifference.~

We'll check into our own to make sure this slight doesn't go unpunished. I know of no one of my own that would do something like this.
