Raul Asher ran with Areyn since they were young wolves having been brought into the pack by their fathers. They were age mates, growing up in that pack together. When their own father's grew old, the younger males challenged them and took over. hey took up the reins, and continued in their father's own pawprints. But Raul never really was content with the female wolves in the pack. None truly caught his attention. it was the younger male wolves that held his fascinating, though he played it off as simply a need to dominate. He would sneak off and find some little human boy, use him and leave him, but it wasn't ever truly enough. He craved the wolves, their fur and teeth and claws, the fight. But eventually Areyn began to grow suspicious.
It was around this time they'd come into Texas to stay with the pack there. Raul was aware of Areyn's watchful eye, so he choose one of the female kin to spend his nights with. But the time they left Areyn was appeased. And 14 months later when they passed back through, Raul was surprised and pleased to find a baby boy who looked remarkably like him. There was no question, no arguing, even as Fox's mother sobbed, Raul took his son and brought him into the pack. Raul's world changed right then and there. This little pink soft whining thing became his world.
Raul changed the boys name to Shea and as soon as the boy could crawl he was training, working along side his father to learn to be a wolf. Raul found the boy sly, smart, quick to see a way around any problem. He became Raul's little Fox. While all the other children were kept in line and disciplined, Raul allowed Fox a much longer leash. For Fox the world was a bright place that his father ruled. He loved his father, respected him. He loved the way that others showed his father respect, how they all bowed to the pack. He was in awe of their alpha as well as frightened. Areyn was a stunningly frightening force of nature and in a way so was his little precious daughter, Desi. She was as wild as Fox and unruly and given as much freedom. They ruled their age mates as if they were already the alpha's of their own pack. They could easily talk or bully the other kids into doing whatever they wanted. This life was idyllic.
It wasn't until Fox was 8 and the pack returned to Texas that their world shattered. Fox didn't know his mother and though he asked, Raul was vague about her. So it was a shock to find her still alive, pining for her lost child. She frightened Fox, trying to grab hold of him, hug him close. He pushed against her, crying out until he finally scratched her and ran to his father. He bolted behind Raul and peered out at this crazed woman who was screaming at his father, calling him a thief. It was her larger wolf brother that drug her off, kicking and screaming. Areyn decided they'd leave in the morning.
But the rise of the the sun brought new horror.Hung from the big tree in the middle of the ranch was Fox's mother. The stool was kicked over and apparently the stress of it was to much for her, so she took her own life. Her brother was enraged, blaming Raul and then he challenged the Beta. Fox was wide eyed but as his father moved foreword, pulling off his shirt, pride welled up in Fox. Nobody could hurt his father, or at least he thought.
Fox lay beside his father's bloody beaten lifeless body sobbing. Wolf like, the child nuzzled into the dead body trying to get some response to the touches. It was over and Raul had lost. The worst part was Areyn didn't do anything to the other wolf. Fox was up when the alpha came closer, barring his teeth and demanding that he avenge his father. But Areyn couldn't but Fox of course didn't understand that. Then the family demanded that Areyn leave Fox with then, they were his family, after all. Fox's green eyes were on Areyn then, shock washing over him as he realized that he might be left behind. Areyn growled and stepped up pushing Fox to wards his own pack. The boy bolted and was behind Desi's mother, beside the girl and watching intently. Areyn dared them to challenged him, pacing, waiting. But the only one that could was Juliana's brother who was still nursing wounds from Raul. The others relented, too frightened to want to take Areyn on. They left right after that.
Fox changed that day. Areyn claimed the boy as his own, raising him as he would his own. But a dark cloud hung over the boy now. He became more reckless, trying to break the ruled and managing on more then one occasion to have Areyn's wrath brought on him. As he grew older though the rest of the pack noticed how stunning he was. He was going to make a good wolf, but he seemed hell bent on pushing the pack. He challenged them, even as a human, forcing more the one of them to dominate him and claim him for the evening. He pretended that it was because he wanted to be a wolf, but honestly he just wanted the boys. He was too much like his father.
By the age of 15, Areyn new he was ready. The alpha bit Fox himself, knowing how bitter sweet this was for the boy, whose father should have been the one doing this. The next full moon, Fox found his fur. The rest of the pack waited for him to challenged the currant Beta, assuming he'd want his father's position. After all, it seemed he was destined for that. But he didn't take it. Instead he just ran with the pack, becoming one of them. The more they thought he would eventually step up, the more he didn't. He stayed with his age mates, the twins, Desi, still wild, still pushing the limits but not at all trying to edge up in the pack.
Fox knows his time is limited. He knew that Areyn has given his consent for him and Desi to be mated, he knows that Areyn wants him to step up as Beta. He knows that eventually the collar on his neck will be tightened and he's not sure if he will be able to breath when that happens. The closer the day gets to that, the more Fox wishes his father was there.
Character Appearance:
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Personality: He's sly, slick, quick witted. But there is a compassionate side to him, one that makes him feel weaker then others. He manages to talk himself out of messy situations, but there is a rough dangerous side as well. The side that was raised by Areyn, that side is rougher, wilder, a fighter for sure.
