-Mab had almost panicked thinking she was going to be late for her patrol. For all her tough exterior, Mab did seem afraid of Roland. She left Jack's trailer, hair in a mess, and out of breath, more from her rush to get out the door. Her heart was racing, she knew that soon, unless Roland had somehow changed his mind, she would be fighting off Micah. There was a reason she avoided some wolves like the plague, and well he was one of them. When she got close to where she was supposed to meet him for patrol, she shed her clothes, and shifted to wolf. She paced, the tension and nervousness growing in her. Micah had been bragging in camp to some of his buddies ever since Roland had put him on patrol with Mab. He was going to tame one of the untameable bitches. He knew he couldn't go after Desi, partly because of who she was, but Mab, well she wasn't anybody in the pack. No one except a little she wolf who fought almost to the death to keep people off of her. Anyone in camp could have heard him, his words lewd, crude, and violent at times. He didn't care who heard him, who was going to stop him. Her parents had been sent to town for some supplies, and none of the puppies she had as friends would be able to help her. No one else gave a shit about the little bitch. Mab was beginning to wonder if she was going to be on patrol by herself, but then Micah finally showed up. She kept her distance from him.- You lead off... -She growled at him, already defensive. He snorted and went on ahead. If anyone was tailing them, well they would go on like that quietly for most of the patrol, it was when they got to the turn around point that things began to take a turn for the worse.- Why don't you lead now Mab, I'm sure you know the way. -It really wasn't a request, but Mab jutted up her chin.- I think it would be better if you continued being up front. -Micah moved in closer to her, he was almost growling at her.- Why don't we just take a break, you know we could have a little fun. -Mab growled back, and the hackles rose on her back. She snapped at him as he got closer, not answering him with words, only with actions. When she snapped at him, something in Micah broke, and he was already jumping at her. The two wolves became a whirl of activity, fighting, biting, scratching, clawing. Micah was larger, stronger, but Mab had her tricks. Soon she was out from under him and running, but Micah was close behind. He tackled into her again, and this time Mab wasn't able to squirm her way out from under him.-

~The moment Mab had fled from the trailer, Jack had pushed up and slipped out the back door, shifting. He waited, watching and then slowly following Mab and Micah. Staying down wind of them, the large gray wolf moved with a grace of a predator. He stayed out of view, smell, and sound so he could observe. But things weren't going to badly, not at first. But then Micah was reacting to Mab's growling and Jack knew this wasn't going to end well for the little female. ~ ~He slipped in quietly, making it so he seemed to have just appeared. Jack's fur was on end and a low feral growl rippled from his chest. He was a bit bigger then Micah and the scars on the wolf's body made him all that more intimidating.~ We don't take our aggression out on smaller wolves in my pack... and this is our land... so you need to back off. ~The words weren't a challenge, they were an out and out command. Micah looked honestly surprised and pulled away from Mab. But he growled, lowering his head as he began to pace around Jack. Jack's head lifted and those green wolfish eyes seemed to mock Micah.~ Do you really want to do that? Think hard about it, make the right choice, because once you overstep yourself, I'll be out for blood... ~He growled those last 5 words at Micah. Micah straightened up a little and snarled. Jack was basically threatening him with his life. And though Micah didn't consider himself a coward, he wasn't sure if he could take Jack. The wolf's eyes flicked to Mab and he snapped at her.~ You're not worth the fucking effort.... ~He turned and began to trot away, but Jack was on him in a flash. The wolf yelped, shocked by that and then they were snapping jaws and fur flying. But after a moment, though it seemed much longer, Micah was on the ground baring his throat to Jack. Jack snarled down at him.~ Don't turn your back on me, don't talk to her like she's worthless, don't ever overstep one of our rules again. And.... Don't touch her... ever... the next time, I won't be so fucking nice.... ~Pushing up, he allowed Micah to roll up and scuttle away. Turning Jack moved closer to Mab. He was much bigger then her, standing there beside her. But that big head dipped and he nuzzled against her, then started sniffing to make sure she was alright.~

-Mab was about as shocked as Micah to see Jack. She really didn't think he would follow her out on her patrol, even though he had made a big deal about the things she had told him. She laid there, watching the scene unfold, practically unable to move. Until Micah snapped at her and told her she wasn't worth the effort, then a growl rolled out of Mab that was exceptionally threatening. She was getting up to attack the bigger wolf herself when Jack was past her in a blur. Again, she was shocked into not moving, except to slowly sink to the ground as the two wolves brawled. When Jack Made Micah submit, Mab slowly shook her head. This was a wolf that could protect her, this was a wolf that could own her, but she knew that soon any trust he had with any of them would be broken. Why would he keep any interest in her then. She whined a little bit as the adrenaline moved from her body, and she realized that Micah had broken one of her legs. The pain was a sweet fire though, and soon the whining went away. She was wrapped up in that pain blazing through her when Jack moved over to her, nuzzling in. She snapped at him at first, a low growl coming from her as it seemed he interrupted her revelry. But it abruptly changed when she opened her eyes and looked up at him. There was a bit of admiration there, of infatuation possibly taking hold in her blue green eyes. She nuzzled back for a moment, then licked at her wound. It had already started knitting, but it would take some time. The muscle and a bit of bone where Micah had snapped her front left upper leg could be seen. For such a dramatic wound, Mab seemed strangely quiet. Besides that, she had only a few minor bites and scratches that were already close to being healed. She didn't move to get up, instead she rested her head against Jack's side, and closed her eyes again.-

~The big gray wolf wasn't too surprised by the reaction he got from Mab, and as she calmed, he relaxed as well. He let her rest against him for a moment before pushing up slowly and moving a bit more to look at her leg. He knew it was knitting back together, but he wanted to ensure it was doing so rightly. When he was fairly sure that things were healing the best way they could. He stopped looking her over and just lay beside her, against her, his head on her neck. For a moment it was just quiet in the woods, just the two of them.~ ~Finally he shifted, letting the skin slip and then nuzzling into the soft golden fur.~ maybe you should go see the Doctor.... just to make sure that you're leg is setting right? ~He didn't say A doctor, no he said THE doctor as if he had someone already in mind. And he did. Carlisle Cullen was probably the only man he'd trust with the girl. And it didn't really register to Jack that the simple act of taking her to a doctor that was a vampire could cause alot of trouble. Not that they probably weren't in their own amount anyway for him attacking Micah.~ I can carry you if you like, he's not far from here.

-Mab really just wanted to lay there until the damn thing knitted. She felt she had survived worse and one little broken arm wasn't going to kill her. She turned her head and nuzzled into Jack when he had slipped his skin, but then he made mention of a doctor. She pulled back, and shook her head. For a moment she snarled at him, the low growl coming out of her throat was one of disagreement. Finally she stood on her three good legs and moved away from Jack a moment. Then she began to change, and the noise that came out of her was much like a wail of pain. The broken bones moving and shifting with the rest of her. When she was finished changing, she was shaking with pain, but besides the wail she had made during the shift, she made no other noise. It took her a moment, but she stood up on shaky leg, one of her arms covered in her own blood, hanging somewhat limp at her side. Her hair was in her face, but her eyes couldbe seen through those hanging loose curls as she looked back up at Jack.- No Doctors, I've survived worse than this without seeing a doctor. I just need it cleaned and bandaged, I'll be fine in a few days. -Her voice was a little quiet, not as forceful or confident as it had always seemed to come off to Jack in the short time he had known her. She moved towards him though, almost as if she were sure he wouldn't make her do anything she didn't want. She knelt beside where he was sitting, where she was just a few moments before and slipped into his lap, her good arm slipping around his waist, her head resting on his shoulder. She sighed and closed her eyes a moment, that whisper quiet voice coming out of her again.- Thank you.
