~Volture, ancient and beautiful, spread out across Beau’s vision. It was amazing but Beau wasn’t really paying attention to any of that. All of it had lost it’s luster simply because he was here against his will with creatures that meant to do him harm. He wanted to travel with Devan and Zeke, but that wasn’t going to happen. Devan was dead and Zeke was far away. ~
~Jane had already threatened him in her calm lilting tone, reminding him that even if he could escape where in the fuck was he going to go and who was he going to get to help him. He was alone in a foreign country with no money, no identification, and no other clothes than the loose gray shirt and baggy black draw string pants. Hell, he didn’t even have any shoes. So he’d co-operated because he had no other choice.~
~They were in the back of a dark windowed limo. Beau sat next to Sebastien and across from Jane. He hardly acknowledged their presence, preferring to pretend he was alone. It seemed to amuse Jane. They pulled up to a large majestic building that was much older than anyone in the car. Climbing out, Beau was instantly surrounded by two big intimidating vampires with bright red eyes. They were standing in a covered alley way. Taking a deep breath, Beau kept his head high and began to walk with them. Thank God it wasn’t that cold. Atleast he had that to be thankful for.~
~They walked through the main hall, though it was beautiful, opulent even, Beau refused to acknowledge it. Sebastien was home finally and Beau knew instantly, just by the way the place felt that this place was a snake pit, no, he’d not even say that. He’d not disgrace Zeke and Ira with that. He knew they were going directly to meet the elders, but once they were at the door, Beau was stopped. Sebastien and Jane were allowed in. Ofcourse, they had to explain what happened and then Beau would be presented like a present, the spoils of war so to speak. He couldn’t help getting nervous. This could be it. He was under no illusions of what they were going to do to him. He wondered how much he’d change once he was a vampire. And ofcourse there was a fear that they’d torture him once he was changed. He knew Zeke, knew that the viper was going to come for him. He trusted that Ira wouldn’t let Zeke run head long into anything and do something stupid, but he knew they both would come for him. He could do nothing but hope and pray that when they did show up that he was still who he was and not just some monster.~
~It felt like he stood out there for hours, days even and he was starting to get cold in the marble floored foyer. He was shifting from one foot to the other and the two big vampires next to him just stood like statues without moving. The only time either even showed they were more than marble was when Beau wandered to far for them. And then just when he was thinking he needed to find a chair to sit on and take a nap, the doors opened. Sebastien was standing there like the cat that caught the canary. He stepped out and took Beau by his arm. As they entered the huge inner sanctum, Beau jerked his arm from Sebastien, lifted his head up high and refusing to be some dog presented to them. Aro, Marcus and Casius sat on huge chairs like thrones as the others stood around them against the walls watching as Sebastien lead Beau in. Aro smiled and though it was beguiling, Beau knew that there was a dangerous predator under all that.~
Welcome to Volture…. I am Aro… This is Marcus and Casius… we are very pleased you are here…Sebastien speaks very highly of you. I’m happy we could rescue from that deranged pack of animals.
~Beau stared up at Aro and those golden eyes narrowed.~
Thank you for welcoming me here, but I’m not a guest and we both know that. You can be as pleased as you wish, but you took me from my home, killed my friends. It wasn’t a rescue… it was a kidnapping. And if you think that Sebastien was being held against his will, then he lied to you. He had all the freedom in the world there. He could have left at any time.
~Aro smirked as the boy spoke. Jane’s eyes narrowed and she moved suddenly in closer to Beau, but Aro stopped her as he stood up.~
Jane… please….
~He moved down the marble steps to Beau, reached out his hand, white and snow, cold as marble and lifted Beau’s chin. The touch shocked Beau. He knew that Aro was reading him and he wanted to jerk free from it. It was felt as if he were being raped. It wasn’t sweet or warm or comforting. It was an invasion that Beau couldn’t control.~
Tien is a survivor. I’m sure he did what he had to do to ensure he survived such an awful ordeal. You must understand that, being in the situation that you are in now.
~But just as Aro was searching Beau’s mind and soul, his brow furrowed. He felt something strange, something he’d never felt before. His brow arched and Sebastien could see the want in the older creature’s eyes. Infact for a moment Aro showed more of his true self and less of the put together centuries old creature that he was. The room was silent, deadly silent. Aro pulled his hand from Beau’s chin, but then he tugged the boy in closer. Beau stared up and then closed his eyes. He knew this was it. And suddenly he was praying to God to help him, to protect him. Aro wasn’t wasting time. Maybe Beau was too good to waste on time. He pushed Beau’s head back and went to bite the boy. Beau moaned as he was bit and the pain washed threw him. Aro wasn’t making this sweet, getting the boy back for being disrespectful. But then something changed. The pleasure on Aro’s face faded and his brow furrowed in pain. Sebastien would feel it first being closer to Aro and Beau then any of the others. It was a power, a force that was rolling from Beau and then suddenly Aro was pushed off, thrown back. Sebastien was knocked to the ground as was Jane and anyone near. Beau’s head was back, his whole body was glowing. For a moment it was silent, just completely silent. And then a humming buzzing now, like electricity that rolled through the room. Everyone was staring, shocked. It took Aro a moment to shake off what had just happened. When he pushed up there was shock on his face. Beau was radiating a white light and Sebastien would swear that he saw wings glowing behind the boy. Beau slowly dropped to his knees. And though there was still blood on Aro’s face, there was none on Beau. Infact the wound was healed. His eyes opened and they were glowing gold, bright and there was a power behind them. He stood slowly, with a grace that was deadly. Something had changed in him, Sebastien could see it. The innocence was gone, instead there was judgment in his eyes.~
Why am I here, Demons?
~The voice was even changed and then his eyes closed and for a moment there was a question of what exactly was going on as the others looked at one another unsure. Marcus and Casius had stood up as well now, but they hadn’t moved off the dias they had been standing on. Aro slowly stood and when Beau’s eyes opened, they leveled on Aro.~
The next time you touch me in such a way, you will no longer be of this earth. You will be the ash you should have been centuries ago…
~Jane snarled, shooting forward to make Beau bow to Aro, but he lifted his hand and she screeched as she fell to the ground.~
That is retribution for the pain you cause others… heel your dogs, Aro.
