Name: Zachariah Chevliar
Clan: Toreador
Generation: 10th
Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures. ~Henry Ward Beecher
Sometimes even when a person is given a normal life, that is, a person grows up with both parents who love each other, in a nice home, goes to all the best schools, has everything they could want and never knows true hardship, sometimes even then, that person grows up different. That was how it was for Zach. There was nothing in his past that he could say was bad, he wasn’t abused or ill treated. No one had ever tried to hurt him or be mean to him. He was that child that had a certain charisma that made others notice him. He was popular, even early in life, knowing that people just seemed to follow him. But it didn’t mean that there wasn’t a dark side. Something deep in Zach knew that he wasn’t like everyone else. He had a talent for art, drawing, painting, sculpting. And yet it didn’t seem enough. He wanted to push things, studying all the masters. Yet even so, he kept up the façade, playing sports, going to parties, dating all the right girls. But he wasn’t that stuck up snob, nor was he the douche bag jock. No, Zach was that kid who could float seamlessly from one clique to the next without making waves and everyone loved him.
Graduation came and Zach had his choices of schools. He could go for academic scholarships, athletic scholarships, but the one he was most interested in was for his art and painting. So to get as far away from his family and his fake life as possible, Zach took a scholarship with the Academy of Art in San Francisco. There he could be himself and he did, leaving all the masks behind. In San Francisco life was what he thought it could be and he started to delve into the darker parts of life and his soul. But he didn’t have to dig far at all, for darkness knows talent and knows it’s self. So it came to him.
Vivienne La Roux was once a famous actress, dancer and entertainer from the stuffy Victorian era. She was ahead of her time, finding mean easy to manipulate and toy with. Her own sire plucked her from the theaters early on, officially shutting down her career long before it flowered completely. She had an eye for talent and looked for that which she could cultivate. She had gone to the bay to see an act by a local artist. The act wasn’t interesting at all, but one of the attendee’s caught her attention. Zach was instantly taken with Vivienne as she was with him. She extended her stay in San Fran and wooed the young artist away from school. It didn’t take her long before she’d made up her mind to embrace him.
Zach was brought back to Las Vegas, dropping out of school and forgetting everything that he knew about his previous life. He thought that he always knew that there was something more out there. He thought he understood, but being tossed in with the lions of the Camerilla, it was eye opening and he suddenly realized that he wasn’t going to be able to get away with everything anymore. Vampires had a completely different way of doing everything, and they all had a charisma that Zach wasn’t sure he could stand up against. He made mistake after mistake and soon Vivienne was losing patience and finding her prodigy getting on her nerves. He didn’t fall in line as she expected, not really realizing his own nature was to just buck the system. He couldn’t help it. And to her horror, he seemed to find friends in those she felt undesirable, like the Brujah and the Gangrel. But Zach still manages to bend Vivienne to his will, for now. But he knows that his charm is running thin and she is growing weary of his antics.
