~This was the calm before the storm. Having retrieved the pup and now they had the vampire was all a win for the Dancers, but the truth was, it put a serious kink in the works of this alliance they had with the vampires. Azazel had reported back to Never when things had settled a bit. The elder wasn't happy. The wolves were theirs, he felt they were pretty clear about that and now Phillip had obviously stepped over that line. But none of that really bothered Az. What was on his mind was the fact that Em had lied. He'd known all along and in the end had kept Az in the dark.~
~Days had passed, Comet seemed to be settling in well, but Hayden wasn't happy about it. He was sleeping in his and Enver's bed and seemed to be still enamored with En. And Fenris had Trace still. The whole pack was still in the warehouse, though that might not be the best place for them to be. Trace was still healing, but he'd not taken the brunt of the attack. Em had protected him and was still underground healing. Fenris and Trace seemed to be okay with things though. The two had worked it out, or maybe they both understood that neither really had the right or place to do anything about what was going on between Em and Az.~
~But Azazel was an angry ball of betrayal. He wanted badly to scream at Em, but with the vampire under the ground, that was some what hard. So he just sat and seethed. No one could get close to him, if they did, they got a snarl and a growl. He hardly left Em's sleeping site. There was only one person who could get close and that was Fenris. He shifted between wolf and Crinos, but rarely was in Homid. The electricity rippled off the wolf and those around knew it was best to just avoid and keep their distance. But eventually Em would have to wake, eventually he'd have to crawl out of that dirt hole and come face to face with the creature that was seething with anger.~

-Fenris had moved in closer to the huge crinos wolf even as he growled darkly. He had left Trace after they'd been in bed for hours as they usually were nowadays to check up on his brother. He ran his fingers through the wolf's hair nuzzling into him knowing his brother was upset and knowing what was to come was a true storm, one even he didn't want to be around for, because like a real storm it'd destroy a lot in its path. He cocked his head up closing his eye as he inhaled the air before he slipped off the wolf leaving him alone. Moments later a pale hand shot through the earth. The Gangrel crawled out slowly dressed in only a pair of jeans. His skin looked smooth and new but there was a dark look in his eyes. He glanced around seeing Azazel but he moved straight for the small fridge he'd left next to his grave. He opened it up roughly accidently taking the door off the hinge as he grabbed the bags full of blood draining them slowly. He drank ravenously before sighing as he wiped his mouth staring down with his eyes closed ... -
My rest would have been more peaceful without you seething right on my grave ...
-He knew the wolf was upset he'd with held information for him but Em couldn't see what else he could have done. He'd tried to protect everyone that meant anything to him but it had all gone down in flames. He'd managed to keep Trace alive, that was enough, but he knew deep down the peace between the wolves and the vampires may have been shot. He also knew Azazel wasn't going to forgive him ... -
-He didn't say anything else. What could he say. He knew an apology wasn't going to cut it and more to the point he wasn't sorry for trying to fix the mess his own leader had created. It was his job and he was loyal to Phillip even if he was a greedy stupid motherfucker. He moved grabbing the grey shirt he'd left for himself tugging it over his massive frame before he brushed the wild red hair from his face. He glanced back at Az, the huge wolf looked upset, before he moved in closer. He knew there was a good chance Az might bite an arm off but fuck he'd re-grow it. He reached out running his hand down his arm staring at the wolf with some sadness. He'd thought for a while he could keep him forever. Maybe he wasn't the type to stay with anyone for that long but he'd thought he belonged with Az more so then he belonged with anyone before. He knew the shit was about to hit him and he let it happen-

~Az let Fenris near, nuzzling into his younger brother, but the anger was still there, palpable and when Em began to climb out of the grave, Az let Fenris go. He watched the vampire move to the fridge but he was unmoved to help the creature. The words did little to soothe the wolf. When Em drew in closer, the wolf's head tilted down some, but a very low growl rippled from his chest. As the Em touched him, Az flinched back. He moved away, shifted and then turned.~
You could have made this all much easier by telling me what you knew, Em.
~He knew that Em was going to give his excuses, the wolf didn't want to hear them. He held up his hand.~
Don't Em. Just don't say anything else. I know where your loyalties lie... mine are where they are. You should speak to Trace.... This war is going to be bloody.
~He wasn't yelling, but simply speaking the truth. He looked the vampire over, but it wasn't full of sadness, just disappointment. He shrugged, turned and left the vampire. It was just that simple, that easy. Or so it seemed, but the truth was, it wasn't easy for the wolf. He had a loyalty streak a mile wide and he expected the same from those that he let in close. Em had managed to weasel his way into the rough wolf's heart, spark a flame that had faded. But now he'd made a bonfire out of that flame with anger and betrayal.~
~Elsewhere~
I understand that you were unaware of the alliance that we'd set up with the Sabbat, so in truth, Nikolai, you are only guilty by association. You did steal the cub, but he'd been returned to the right place... and you have to admit, he's better for it.
~Never stood near the vampire. He'd brought the old creature a very sweet young girl to have for dinner. He also had Comet near. The elder was thin, as if he'd not eaten much, but he had a commanding performance. He had an almost hawk like appearance, his dark hair messy, knotted and pushed back wildly off his face.~
We could help each other....
~Never spoke the words casually. But the truth was, it wasn't casual at all. Comet stood off to the side watching. He hated seeing Nikolai like this, but there wasn't much he could do. He didn't have any control over when they let Nikolai go. He was also very aware that Enver didn't like him being near Nikolai, and the Galliard hadn't been at all pleased when the Theurge Elder had appeared and taken the young wolf with him to go and speak to the old vampire.~
~Never on the other hand didn't seem to worry or care that Comet was still addicted to Nikolai's blood. He was more interested in learning a bit more about this creature. And further more, Never had alternate agenda, but he had offered to take the vampire problem on as his own. He smiled some, reached out and motioned for Comet to come closer. The Philidox came closer and was tugged into the Theurge.~
We obviously have similar interests, I think, don't you?

-The older vampire shrugged faintly. He knew, perhaps, he could have but he also knew his loyalty was to the vampires as well as to him. He had moved to touch him but pulled back slowly when the wolf growled and flinched. He sighed staring down at the stunning wolf in front of him wanting to tug him in closer, to touch him, to tell him he was sorry his leaders had fucked it all up for them but he knew the wolf to know right now he was too pissed to hear anything ... -
I'm not one of your pack Az. You knew this. I did what I could do try and keep the peace ... if I'd told you I'd have ensured this coming war. I took my shot at peace ...
-Em frowned when the wolf walked away. He growled and gripped his arm keeping him in place for a moment ... -
I know you're mad right now you have the right but don't turn your back on me or you might not find me here in the morning ...
-When the wolf left he sighed. He ran his fingers through that dark red hair moving to find the vampire. He sniffed him out cutting a wide birth through the others around him. He was angry and wounded. When he got to Trace's room he opened the door finding Fenris inside laying on top of the vampire nuzzling into him. His eyes narrowed on the bigger vampire wanting to hurt him for betraying his brother. He glanced at Fenris ... -
Get out ... I want to talk to Trace alone ...
-A low growl emanated from the wolf ... he wasn't going to leave unless Trace said so ... -
~Elsewhere~
-The vampire was chained in front of the big bad wolf in front of him. His eyes narrowed on the obvious alpha who held an air of command and respect. Nik knew he could not have reached his position without a lot of bloodshed. He held the wolf's gaze but spoke with respect. One equal to another despite the fact he was bound and the wolf held all the power. Nikolai would not be cowed into submission so easily ... -
He does seem to have grown under your guidance and the guidance of the ... father ...
-He conceeded quietly although he knew if he had it his way he'd have kept Comet all to himself but at least the wolf was close to him. The vampire arched a brow slowly at the words. Helping the wolves in this case wouldn't be a direct betrayal of his kind, maybe the Sabbat in the vicinity but he could always leverage whatever alliance he made with these wolves to his benefit with the Sabbat elders. He knew he was being given a choice. Death or joining them ... -
We could ...
-He spoke slowly thought his eyes darted to Comet for a moment especially when he was tugged into the elder. His own muscles strained to reach for what he considered his own being touched by another. It irritated him but he held it down. He nodded slowly standing a bit straighter. He used a bit of his blood to infuse every word he said with power. He knew the wolves would not respect weakness ... -
I would be very interested to hear what you have to say. If we are to aid one another I think these ...
-He moved his chains a bit ... -
... aren't so necessary. Unless my freedom isn't part of the bargain?
-His Russian accent dripped slowly as he waited to see what the older wolf would say. His own voice held power but respect. He lowered his gaze bowing his head a touch in respect. He knew this wolf held a great deal of power and he had no intention of pissing him off but neither was he about to start begging for his life. That'd be a sure way for him to die and if he was to die he intended to do so with some dignity-

~Az snarled at the vampire before him.~
You took your shot at keeping your fucking bishop safe. It's not about pack, Em... it's about YOU and ME... about you trusting me... as I trusted you.
~When he was grabbed, he jerked his arm free and Em could see the wolfish eyes and knew that in that moment he was pushing to far.~
Maybe it's best if you aren't here when I turn around, Em.
~He walked off, fur bristling. He tore off his clothes, shifting down to lupus and took off running. He needed to run, to hunt to be free of all this mess. He left the pit and went into the darker depths of the hive, loosing himself to the wolf and god help anyone who got in his way.~
It's okay, Fen. Give us a minute.
~Trace had waited for this moment, knowing that deep down things were going to be bad and obviously they were. He gently nudged Fenris.~
Go find Az... I doubt he needs to be alone...
~He focused Fenris for a moment and when the wolf left, he pushed up and leaned back, waiting for Em to speak. He knew that vampire wanted to rant. He also wasn't so sure that he could back the vampire this time. Yes, he'd gone along with Em in all this, but he'd always wanted to bring Fen and Az on board
~Elsewhere~
~Never smiled and then he moved in, letting go of Comet.~
I'll let you loose... you'll have more free reign...and you'll be with Comet... But I can't trust you completely in the hive... so you'll be under Comet's pack. Which means you do as they say and you are to be with one of them always. I have something I wish you to wear.... all the time...
~Never dropped near the vampire and motioned for the formori to loosen the vampire's bonds.~
In return... I want that fucking bishop's head on a pike... he thinks he can make deals and then slight us. He doesn't understand who in the fuck he is dealing with... but you... you do. I can see that. We still protect that pack... when we could have killed them and sent their fangs back to Phillip. We aren't your typical wolf, Nikolai... You do see that, don't you?
~Comet had slipped in closer and Never had nodded letting the younger drop down and creep in close to Nikolai who was now sitting up. Now was the moment of truth.~

-Em frowned staring down at the ground. His curled both hands into fists feeling the whip of those words. It stung and he knew deep down he was leaving. Trace was safe. Without Az there was no place for him here. He was tired of politics. Tired of these stupid minor wars. He wanted to go back into the jungle, to lose himself there, and forget about all of this. It was where he belonged. He'd been a fool to think he belonged back in vampire society or with a wolf. A stupid fool. He walked towards the vampire watching Fenris shift and run after his older brother knowing he needed to run with him. No questions. No advice. Just for the two of them to run. Em moved in closer caressing Trace's cheek-
You're safe ... I'm glad I didn't lose you to Nikolai ...
-His hand dropped grabbing Az's hand placing a key in it-
You know my old safe house ... this is the key to it. Use it when you want and anything you want in it...
-He turned slowly gazing around frowning ... -
I'm not staying. This whole shit storm reminded me why I left the Anarchs and the Sabbat in the first place. Stay with the wolves Trace ... whatever fall back will be on the Sabbat it will be bad ... you need to distance yourself from them ...
-He gazed around looking for the old bag he'd left somewhere in the room. He needed to leave. He didn't want to see Az again, it hurt too much, he'd know the wolf might not forgive him but he'd not thought it'd be so bad. "Maybe it's better if you aren't here when I come back" The words stung. Haunting him-
~Elsewhere~
That is acceptable ...
-He waited for his bonds to be loosened staring down at the fomori with interest as he sat up. He rotated one shoulder then the others feeling the strains of his muscles tightening up. He watched Comet moved in closer reaching out to touch the younger wolf. He still soothed him. The blood he'd brought earlier had been a great boon. He doubted he'd be as sane as he was right now without blood. He gazed back at Never-
How long am I supposed to be with this pack?
-He arched a brow slowly. Temporary custody until a true alliance was one thing. Indentured servitude was another and he was too old to trust wearing some strange around his neck and believe he could escape it. There were strange artifacts in this world and the wolves seemed to have some strange bizarre connection without the spirit world. -
The bishop?
-Nikolai arched a brow slowly. Assassinating the bishop may cause some problem but this whole new world was too interesting for him to pass up. He could sell it to the black hand in the end. He was judge and jury in most cases anyway. He arched a brow at the wolf. No, this whole new world was to interesting besides he had little choice in the manner. He wasn't going to die for some stupid bishop. He'd lived too long and he was greedy for even more years-
I've never met a typical wolf yet ...
-He smirked nodding slowly-
I had intended to kill him, if only for calling for my services, for such a stupid request. Imagine it as one of your pups calling upon you to kill a human. It was ... insulting. But, when I found Comet I had decided to forgive him ... to keep him ... I'll take great pleasure in serving his head to you on a platter. We have a deal you and I.
-He pushed up standing slowly waiting for the rest of his restraints to be released. He stared at Never slowly ... -
I swear my loyalty to you in upholding this deal, wolf, but understand, as you are not a typical wolf, I am not the typical vampires you've met that have barely earned their fangs in the last 50 years. Tell this pack I am to be with to treat me with some respect ...

~Trace frowned when the vampire spoke, pushed up and crawled in closer to Em.~
Wait... Em... You're just gonna leave?
~He frowned but then he sighed. He knew that whatever had happened between him and Az had been bad. Trace hugged Em closer and nuzzled into him.~
I know, Em... trust me. I'm taking the pack and avoiding anything to do with Phillip. You do you realize he fucked you as well, right?
~He pulled back and cocked his head and then sighed.~
Time isn't much for us, ya know... but for those wolves it's a lot longer then what we think. Don't waste it cause you think you fucked up so badly that you can't fix things, Em.
~He sighed again and then leaned in, kissing the vampire roughly. They had history much more so then anything any of the rest of them had. He pulled back, running his hand through Em's long dark hair.~
Don't completely disappear, Em... If i need you, I need to be able to get in touch.... keep a phone around so you can check it's messages.... kay?
~Elsewhere~
No... you are definitely not the typical vampire. But let's be honest... I knew that from the moment they brought you in here. It's why you were chained the way you were.... you're very old... And yes... the pack you are with know that they are to give you respect, just as you are to give it to them.
~He motioned for Nikolai to come closer. When the vampire stepped in, the wolf pulled out a necklace that had a skull of a bird on it. On either said were two wolf claws and then two vampire fangs. He reached up and placed it around the vampire's neck before he stepped back. In that moment Nikolai could feel the power in that necklace and Never gave a dark smile.~
How much did Comet tell you about us?
~He waved that off and went on.~
I'm an Elder Theurge...where you are very powerful because of your age, your blood and the vampire's you run with... I am just as powerful and I command spirits. That is my insurance... But I don't think we need to worry about it, I have faith in your word, Nikolai....
~He turned then to look at Comet.~
Take him to your packs home. Demos has been informed he's joining and should be telling the others as we speak... Nikolai... if you need their help to get to the Bishop, then just ask. I'll be around, if there is anything else you need....
~He turned then and walked away. Though Never wasn't a big wolf, there was something about him that screamed power. Comet watched him go and then moved in closer to Nikolai.~
Enver's sooo gonna be pissed....
~But the Philodox was smiling as he pushed into the vampire and claimed his lips roughly.~
Wanna go home?

-Em frowned shrugging ... -
He does not want me here when I return. I tried to explain ... he wouldn't listen ... I don't think I can fix this one Trace ...
-He turned and hugged Trace tightly to him nuzzling against the vampire. He was going to miss him but he couldn't stay. It'd hurt too much. He ran his fingers through his hair pressing his forehead to the vampires with a smile ... -
I'll keep my phone ... if you need me I'll come back anytime ...
-He caressed his cheek leaning into the kiss ... -
Phillip has fucked himself. They have kept Nikolai alive and that does not bode well for him. Listen to me Trace ... stay away from that vampire ... at his age he has his own code of honor that is far more alien then human anymore. He want to hurt you for having a hand in capturing him and he is part of something big. What I don't know ... I've heard rumors ... how much of them are the talk of paranoid vampires and how much is real I don't know ... just make sure to have that big stupid wolf between you and him at all times ...
-He smirked when he called Fenris stupid as he hugged Trace tightly ... -
Stay safe brother ...
-He whispered softly in his ear before he moved grabbing his bag and heading towards his car. He needed to get out of there. He wouldn't be there when Az returned. Gone as if he'd never been there at all ... -
~Elsewhere~
-Nikolai smirked slowly ... -
I have always respected other predators ...
-He bowed his head slowly as he moved in watching the wolf attach the strange amulet around his neck. It made him shudder. However powerful he was he had some doubts about the sort of deal he'd entered in but all of this world was new and if there was one thing an old vampire liked was something new. Interesting. He touched the amulet toying with it idly before he shrugged ... -
Little ...
-He listened closely. The word foreign to him. A theurge commanded the spirits? Interesting. He knew enough to fear the unknown world of the dead and not to toy with it. Now he was curious to see such a power in action. He almost felt himself in awe at the prospect of walking around the home of the wolves. How many vampires could say the same? When it was over he smirked down at Comet tugging him in closer as he licked across his neck-
I want to walk around a bit first ... then you can take me to your pack ... you reek of this Enver too much as it is. I want you smelling like me ...
-He traced a thumb down his cheek-
... and sex ... and blood ...
-He tugged Comet in close to him as he escaped the dungeon he'd been held within for so many days. His clothes were tattered and he was dirty and bloody but even so he walked with the regalness of an old king. He gazed around inspired though, Comet could feel the shift in his emotions, he was intrigued, in awe of this new world and curious-
