~Thrush lay in that bed tied down to the four posters. Orion had made his own home in the little house that used to be for the house slaves. There was a cozy warm kitchen that opened into a big room and upstairs was two more rooms. Off the back was the main bedroom. There had been furniture still inside when he'd found it, a big four poster bed that he was now using for Thrush. He'd made Rebel and Riot bring it into the big room so he could get to things better. So it sat now taking up the majority of the room and Thrush lay on it angry and pissed, cursing at Orion with every thing he had. But this was not the real Thrush. No, this was some dark thing that Legba had put inside the har. Orion ignored the cursing and when the thrashing got to bad, he knocked Thrush out with some concotion he'd brewed up. He'd sewn up the wound and it was healing finally and he had cleaned Thrush up some, stripping him down of his clothes and any jewelry. He'd then dressed the har in white and trussed him to the bed so he couldn't get up. The only tie he was allowed out of the bed was to wash and relieve himself. And even then, he was shackled and there was a guard. It was the only way the rest were willingly letting him stay.~
~Orion had a very long and deep discussion with Zillah, Zev, Scout, and Rebel. He had to prove to them what he was seeing, showing them the truth of it all. And it was frightening. He felt he could cleanse the har, but he wasn't sure if he could do it completely. He also wasn't sure if it wouldn't kill Thrush. Scout seemed the most unconcerned with that part of it. But they had come to an agreement. Thrush could stay, atleast until Orion cleansed him. And then they would question him to decide what they were going to do next, if he were going to be sent away, killed or allowed to stay.~
Ya know... you giving me grief for wanting to stay with Angel is kinda a double standard now, Brother....
~Riot had ribbed Rebel some about it. The truth was, he was honestly a bit pissed. Rebel had been so angry when he'd said he was going to stay with Angel, choosing him over his brother, but here, the tables were turned and Riot was just suppose to be accepting of that fate. Riot was pragmatic and knew that on some level, Thrush should just be put out of his misery, after all, the har knew it himself, having run head long into that blade. But Rebel was too stubborn to see the forest for the trees.~
Drink this...
~Orion had made them all leave, all except Spirit. Even though Spirit wanted very little to do with that har, his feelings for Sin were too strong. He knew Orion needed him and he had reluctantly agreed. He drank the brew that Orion gave him and made a face.~
It will protect you... Now... we are going to have to fight this thing and Legba. It reports directly to that devil. So we will be fighting it and keeping it contained and when the time comes I'm going to force it into me and then expel it. That's where you will need to be on your toes.
~Spirit nodded and then climbed onto the bed, sitting at the foot between Thrush's leg. The har snarled at Spirit, taunting him and working to try and get him riled, but the drink Orion had given him suddenly cleared his mind. He was calm and not a word Thrush said seemed to bother him. Orion sat at the head, placing Thrush's head in his lap. The har thrashed, but soon the two were in deep meditation and the rod that bond them was Thrush. He went rigid, galvanized by the combined force and power behind these two.~
~The entire battle lasted through the night. As it waged, the other har could feel it, that power thrumming through the entire plantation. It rolled out in waves and sent them all into a quiet revelry as they sent their own power back to the two fighting a battle none of the rest could help with. As dawn began to rise, Orion fell back, his eyes rolling into his head and Thrush went completely limp. Spirit moved in quickly, sharing breath with Orion and literally spitting out a toxic black ooze that smoked as it hit the floor. It was like sucking out poison from a snake bite. When there was nothing left, both fell onto the bed next to Thrush, worn and weary. Everything was silent.~
~Finally Riot couldn't hold Rebel back any longer. The bigger har busted down the door to find the three passed out on the bed still. They looked dead, the room smelled of bitter sweetness and the fire in the hearth was nothing but coals. There was an eerie vibe as Rebel moved in, Riot and Angel following quietly behind him. When he got to the bed, it was Spirit who woke first. He had dark circles under his eyes and he looked like he'd been hit by a truck. He sat up slowly, crawled off the bed with help, stumbled, was caught by Angel and smiled a bit.~
Can you take me to Zee... I wanna be in my own bed....
~He didn't say a word to Rebel, to tired and worn to even care. Angel helped Spirit out, which left the two brothers there alone with Thrush and Orion. The older har slowly woke, his eyes a bit glazed and when he saw Rebel and Riot standing over him, he gave a faint smile.~
Well... it's good to know you care, Rebel....
~He pushed up slowly, straightened himself. As he brushed down his hair the brothers would both notice his hair now had a very wide streak of white in it now. He looked down at Thrush and then motioned to the bonds.~
You can untie him... But... he stays here... I don't know just how much is left inside of him....
~He stood slowly and touched Rebel's arm.~
He is mostly Thrush now... but there is still some part of that thing inside him. There always will be. I locked it up as best I could, but it's bound to his soul... something I can't undo without killing him. It's up to him now to see where he goes with it... You are welcome to stay... but I must rest.
~He stood and left them with Thrush. Riot helped him up the steps and returned, informing his brother that he'd tell the others. Then he left, knowing Rebel needed to be alone with the har.~
~Thrush looked pale, purple circles under his eyes and some how he would remind Rebel of when he first came to them, sick and weak and no one was even sure if he'd live at all. But Rebel knew how strong the har was really. When Rebel crawled in next to Thrush, those pale blue orbs would slowly open. There was a weariness there, but the clouds were gone. He sighed some and shifted just a bit to nestle in with Rebel.~
You should have let me die....
~His voice was hardly a whisper. But he was suddenly very grateful that Rebel was there, that the har had cared enough to not let him die. That he'd been given a second chance.~

-Zillah looked about as dark as Rebel. He did not like Spirit being in there with Orion and he'd told Orion to fuck off when the har had asked him to help but Spirit cared too much about Orion to let him go. Zee snapped at Rebel ... -
If anything happens to Spirit because of Thrush ...
-It lay like a thick warning in the air. Course Thrush was most likely going to be killed anyway. The few that didn't want him to die wanted him gone off the enclave. Very few of the har got any sleep that night. The ones that weren't pacing worried about the outcome were kept awake by the energy that came off the house in waves. It was intoxicating. Like everyone had drank the same koolaid. When morning finally came Rebel and Riot broke through to find the three har looking half dead. Rebel frowned moving in closer before he opened up the window as if to let out the evil. Angel caught Spirit and shook his head carrying the boy slowly back outside but he wouldn't have to help the har too far. Zillah was outside. He frowned moving quickly as he lifted Spirit up in his arms ... -
You're so stupid ... so we're clear ...
-Zillah smiled though carrying him off back to their bedroom. When the others cleared Rebel crept on the bed staring down at the weak har. He reached out brushing the dark hair from Thrush's face before laughing a bit ...-
Told you ... when you go to hell I'm coming after you ...
-He tugged him in closer before he leaned in and claimed Thrush's lips. He poured in everything in the har. Every emotion he felt. It was like a warm sun creeping down to the depths of his bones pushing back that darkness. When he pulled back he kept Thrush in close to him kissing the top of his forehead before whispering ... -
Go to sleep ... I'll be here when you wake up ...
-He knew he owed Orion Spirit and Riot a dept he'd not be able to repay. Not for a long time. Now the real fight was coming. Thrush seemed to sleep for another two days. It took that long for Orion and Spirit to recover as well. Both looked the worst for wear. Orion had the bright white streak in his hair as if the process had permanently aged him. Now the real fight was coming. The one to convince everyone that Thrush could be trusted enough to remain. Course, none of that seemed to matter. Light sprinkled through the thick curtains waking Thrush slowly. He had some recollection of the past two days. Mostly of Rebel waking him to feed him or to take him to bathroom. Or to wash him. Now he woke better than he had in a long time. He woke free of the darkness and he woke to find Rebel snoring quietly beside him on the bed in some weird crooked position. It seemed as if the past month was a fog but the one fire that never seemed to leave him was this har that doggedly and stupidly refused to let him go and die.-
-Outside the other har were sitting down for breakfast. Zillah sat with Spirit. Angel with Riot. Sin had Kismet in his arms feeding him with Scout was right beside him. Zev and Bast were on the opposite side beside Linx and Nails. All the leaders were there to weight in. They knew Thrush would be waking soon and there would have to be some decision made. Angel frowned ... -
If we kick out Thrush we lose Rebel too ... you all know that right?
-Zev frowned ... -
He may see the light. Even if what Orion says is right ... he said some darkness would remain ... Rebel has to know Thrush can't be trusted ... we got one harling now ... more will come ...
-Zillah growled ... -
He's seen too much to be allowed to leave ...
-Angel frowned ... -
We can't give up on him so easily. We all got our dark pasts ...
-Zillah snorted ... -
Yeah I was against you coming too ... I wouldn't bring that up ...
-Angel flipped the har off before continuing ... -
Point is none of us are perfect. You included ... GENERAL ... we can't throw out someone else so quickly. We're a family. If he can be saved he should stay ... enough of us are gonna die in the coming war we don't need to be picking each other off.

You might loose more then just Reb if you kick Thrush out.
~Riot's dark voice growled down the table. He was behind his brother, no matter how stupid he felt it was. And if they tried to kill Thrush, well, just let them try. His brow arched when Zillah spoke.~
There was the same talk when you and your Dragons showed up, General....
~Riot was on edge. He didn't like all this talk of killing off har and kicking har out. But he glanced at Angel, giving a slight smirk when the har stood up to them. His amber eyes found Zev and he waited for the har to speak up on their behalf.~
We can't trust that Legba doesn't still have a hold on him. I don't want him anywhere near my harling... and the rest of you are fools to think anything other then that.
~Scout snapped back at Riot.~
It's true that there is darkness still in him....
~Orion's voice crept from him as he appeared and sat down at the table. It was the first time since the ordeal he'd left his own house. He looked around the table at them all.~
You all are so very quick to make judgements and calls about things you know very little about. Your harling and the future harlings are in no danger. Legba was wounded from mine and Spirit's assault. All of you need to stop doubting the spiritual side of us so much. You have to stop seeing us as human... we are NOT human... not anymore.. our powers are far beyond that...
~The moment Zev or Zillah went to speak, the medicine man slammed his hand down.~
The two of you are still younger then me. I have been here from the beginning. I risked my life to save that har's life. I will not hear another word about his death. Do you understand me? I am as much of a leader of this motley band as you two are. Cross me on this and things will become very very uncomfortable for us all. Thrush stays... and if you feel you must keep your harlings from him, then do so... that is your place as their parents. But do not assume for a moment I will allow him to be kicked out or killed. You walk a fine line between becoming something great or becoming no better then those that wish us dead for our own dark pasts....
~There was power in his words. Spirit stared at the har. He'd never spoken to anyone like this. Yes he and Zillah had their battles, but he'd always kept his cool. This was something new. Orion shook his head and slowly stood up.~
~Elsewhere~
~Thrush woke slowly. He could hardly remember anything past running head long at that har and being stabbed. He was somewhat surprised he was still alive. He blinked over at Rebel and a slight smile crept to his lips. This place, where they were at, was safe. He could feel it. Orion had saved him and he now felt that comforting warmth of that har around him. Slowly he nuzzled into Rebel and began to kiss along his neck. When Rebel stirred, he'd find Thrush pushing up and tugging off the white shirt he'd been wearing. He pressed into Rebel and claimed his lips roughly, sharing breath. This was the old Thrush, there was no wall and Rebel could feel the want in the har, the love and awe for the har he was kissing. Slowly as Thrush pulled back, he smiled at Rebel.~
You really are a fool, Rebel.
~He purred, but then he nestled back down, taking Rebel's hand and toying with his fingers as he sighed contently.~
I.... I'm sorry Reb. I knew... when we got back... when I left with Legba... I could feel something bad was about to happen.... I... I couldn't stop him. I wanted to... but he's... sooo powerful.
~He pushed up then and stared down at Rebel. His head cocked for a moment.~
Is... is Kismet okay? I'm surprised I'm even alive after all that... I've done.
~There was pain in those eyes for what he'd done, the remorse and guilt was deep, hurting him more so then anything else.~

-Zillah's eyes narrowed on Riot and the violent wave of emotion rolled off the two har. He half stood slowly leaning against the table as he looked down at Riot ... - That was different and you fucking know it. I know you love your brother and I commend you for it but you can't keep Thrush locked up ... he could burn the whole fucking house down in the middle of the night ... you gonna take responsibility for that?-Zev sighed reaching out and tugging Zillah to sit back down. They would get nowhere by fighting. He gazed at Scout knowing the har was angrier than any of them. He couldn't blame him for that. His harling had almost been murdered or taken some psychopathic har. If it had been his harling he'd have been as murderous. Everyone started talking at once until Orion moved in and spoke. He spoke of the spiritual side and Zillah rolled his eyes as if on cue before Zev sighed a little bit. When Zillah went to speak and Orion slammed his hand down a hush crept over the table. It was obvious their spirit guide was going to exercise his will over the group. Zillah frowned as Orion threw his age at them. He knew they couldn't survive without Orion and they had to bend in this matter. Zillah frowned staring down frowning as he gazed around the table. Zev spoke first ... - There is no one leader here. Enough of us want to give Thrush a chance to stay. He stays ... -When Scout moved to speak he reached out and touched his hand ... - We will watch him for now. Rebel, Riot, Angel and Orion wish for him to stay. I wish for no more blood on my hands. We should give him a chance ... I know you're angry and you have a right because of Kismet ... but we can't act too quickly ... ~Elsewhere~-Rebel opened one eyed and smiled slowly. It was the nicest way he could imagine being woken up. They shared breath and Reb didn't even want to talk or to ask him anything. When Thrush pulled back Rebel smirked ... - Yeah ... well you're fucking this fool so what does that make you?-He arched a brow but he tugged Thrush back to him claiming his lips full of want. He didn't want to stop. He lay his hand play across his body wanting to crawl on top of him and reconnect again. His head dipped down kissing along his neck before moving a bit lower trying to make him moan and smile a bit. He frowned when he heard the little apology. He pushed up and stared down shaking his head frowning ... - I knew too Thrush. It's my fault. I thought I could fight this myself ... I wouldn't admit I was too weak to do shit. I should have gone to Orion last week. I knew you weren't yourself ... I was just afraid. I didn't trust him ... I do now ... he saved your life and I owe him mine ... -He caressed Thrush's cheek ... - I'm sorry baby ... I shoulda done better by you ... I will fix all of this ... -He lay back down tugging Thrush to him nuzzling against him before he smiled ... - Kis is fine. So is Blaze. You were stronger than Legba. You didn't hurt either one really ... and you could have ... -He cupped his face and leaned down claiming his lips again infusing him with strength. He wrapped the har up in his embrace before pulling back for a moment pressing his forehead to Thrushs's ... - We gotta face em soon. Whatever they decide we face it together. I don't want to hear any martyr shit out of you that you're gonna leave alone or fall on your sword. They kick you out ... I got with you ... I know other houses. We can make it alone. Me and Riot lived in the swamp for months and that was when we was kids. We can do it now ... -He spoke seriously wanting to make sure Thrush didn't have any other stupid thoughts in his head. He wouldn't be separated from the one har he loved. Not when he'd fought so hard to keep him alive. Not when Orion had given so much to keep him alive. It sure as fuck wasn't going to end now. He tugged Thrush back to him not wanting to talk for a while. They could all wait. He wanted to strengthen their bond. It had been so long since he'd had Thrush back. It felt like months-

~Orion nodded to Zev and then slowly walked away. Spirit leaned into Zillah who seemed ready to burst he as so angry. But Spirit knew deep down he agreed with Orion. He'd not just spent the worst night of his life to save this har just to have him killed or cast out. The table was silent, but Scout who was now even more pissed stood up and leaned into Sin, whispering they should leave the table and then the small family got up and walked away.~
Blaze? I... I hurt Blaze?
~Thrush sat up then obviously unaware that he'd hurt the human boy at all. He frowned then and sighed as Rebel insisted that they could live together in the swamp. He frowned and then climbed out of bed.~
As much as I want to stay here with you... especially when you are obviously going to be a big push over right now... I need to apologize to your brother and Angel... and Blaze... and Sin and Scout, though that might be easier said then done.
~He tugged on some clothes and waited for Riot to do the same. Finally the two came outside and find the rest sitting around a table. There was already a silence but it grew as Thrush and Rebel moved in closer. Not every har was there, but the important ones were, save for Orion, Sin, Scout and Kismet. Blaze was sitting next to Angel and visibly shied from Thrush as he drew in closer. Thrush frowned at that and as the others looked at him, he felt suddenly under a lot of pressure.~
I... wanted to say I'm sorry... I know it's not much... but... I mean it... And...whatever you decide... then so be it.
~Riot rolled his eyes a bit as he leaned back. He looked at Blaze and reached out, tugging the boy in closer to him and whispered in his ear that no matter what, he'd not let anyone hurt him again. But then Riot looked at his brother before eying the rest. Bast who was sitting next to Zev, nudged the bigger har to speak. It was obvious how weak and worn Thrush looked. He'd obviously been fighting himself. His hand was on Rebel's arm, using the other for support and Bast sighed some when no one spoke up right away.~
I think I speak for everyone when I say we understand that you were... under someone else's influence. But you have to understand our hesitation to let you closer again, Thrush. That being said, I doubt Orion or Spirit would willingly be okay with us turning you out after the other night's battle. So... A decision has been made that you can stay... but you're to be with someone at all times... and to check in daily with Orion or Spirit and allow them to make sure that you are still.... well, you. This is a once in a life time chance, Thrush. There won't be a second...

He was with Kismet. You knocked him out but you coulda killed him Thrush. You should have if Legba had full control of you but you were fighting it the whole time ...
-Rebel spoke easily. He dusted the hair from Thrush's face knowing he wanted to go out there and face them. He snorted when the har said he was a pushover now. He groaned a little when the har started dressing wanting him naked and back in bed but he relented. He was as nervous as Thrush about this as he got dressed. Sin frowned, he was brimming with worry for Kismet, and he could feel Scouts rage. Sin nodded as he got up still holding Kismet. His hand found Scout's as he squeezed gently trying to sooth his mate a little bit. Zillah was a dark cloud of anger at the moment. He growled when Spirit leaned into him but he said nothing. Still Spirit could tell he was pissed and pissed at him as well for not going against Orion. Or for being spiritual as Orion. Who the fuck knew but Zillah was pissed. Zev leaned back in his chair lighting up a cigarette wanting to just go for a walk. That was when Thrush and Rebel appeared. Thrush visibly weakened, about as bad as he'd looked when they had first found him, holding on to Rebel for support. Angel pushed Blaze behind him gently holding his hand a bit to make sure he knew he was safe. Zev grunted when he was nudged not sure what to say and thankful Bast finally did speak. Rebel stared a bit surprised and he smiled ... -
I'll be near him ...
-Angel got up slowly and moved in towards Thrush ... -
Rebel and Riot can build on to our home and you two can stay with us. It'll be better than staying in the big house ...
-He reached out dusting the dark hair from Thrush's face seeing the darkness and pain and guilt. He was familiar with all of it. It was in his own eyes as well as clear as day. He glanced back at Blaze ... -
You owe Blaze an apology too.
-He gazed back at his harling and beckoned to him. He knew Blaze was scared to death and he didn't want him to be. He wanted him to face Thrush now so he wouldn't have nightmares about it later. If he could see Thrush wasn't a threat anymore it'd be easier. Zev tugged Bast in to him nuzzling into him a bit content he had said all that needed to be said. He gazed at Zillah and nudged him a bit with a pointed look. Zillah snorted and got up making loud noise as he slammed both hands on the table-
I'd sleep very lightly if I were you ... Scout won't forgive ... and I don't forget ... and if Legba is inside that head of yours still you tell him when I see him I'll gut him from stem to stern ...
-He got up glaring a bit at Spirit as well as he walked away annoyed his word had once again meant nothing. This whole fucking thing was a huge mistake. They were letting Legba's little viper snake into their midst like fucking idiots. He didn't give a fuck about the spiritual side. It was a huge damn risk to be taking for one har. A huge risk when they had enough enemies on the outside and didn't need more on the inside. Zev shook his head ... -
Well Zee is helpful as always. He is right about one thing. Scout is mad. You will need to mend alot of bridges Thrush ... but for my part I hope you do ...
-He was giving the har a chance. He didn't trust him but he didn't actively want to harm him either. He also knew one more thing. Bast's battle to get him to agree to a harling had gotten alot steeper. The whole thing had shaken him. He nudged Bast a little wanting some time to clear his head with the har. Rebel kept Thrush close to him as he eyed his brother slowly ... -
So I'm guessing you're the reason it went my way?

~Thrush stood still as the others stared and when Bast spoke he nodded, and then Angel stood up and came closer. When he touched Thrush the har let out a breath that he hadn't really realized he was holding. Locking eyes with Angel, Thrush nodded some.~
Thank you...
~He glanced over at Riot and Blaze who was wearily watching him.~
I'm sorry Blaze, I didn't mean to hurt you... It won't happen again.
~Riot nudged Blaze up and the boy slowly stood and took a few steps in closer to Angel until Zillah slammed his hands down and the boy jumped and darted back to Riot. Everyone turned to stare at Zillah. Thrush just looked down. He understood where Zillah was coming from, after all, it was pretty incredible they were giving him a second chance at all. Spirit frowned and stood up. He looked at Thrush and then shrugged, turning and going after Zillah. He knew that the har was pissed and he couldn't blame him. But he knew that Zillah didn't understand the spirit side of things and as he started following the har, Spirit started to feel a bit more anger rolling through him.~ I think you might want to give everyone a little bit of time to cool off before you talk to them. I'd keep a low profile for a while.
~Bast smiled a bit, but he pushed up and tugged at Zev.~
Come on....
~Thrush was pulled in closer and he sighed, shaking free of Rebel and taking a seat at the table they'd all been sitting at. He felt his world was still on very shaky ground. Riot glanced at Rebel and shrugged.~
Nah... it was Orion. You can thank him. He was the one that really laid the law down. I think me and the General were about to come to blows.
~Riot was still holding onto Blaze who was staring around at Rebel and then at Thrush. He slipped in closer to Rebel, those big green eyes speaking volumes. He leaned in and tugged on Rebel's shirt. When Rebel leaned in, the boy spoke softly.~
You aren't gonna let him hurt Kissy again, right?
~It was funny how concerned the boy was for Kissy and not for himself. When Rebel agreed with that, he nodded and let out a sigh. He inched in closer to Angel and crawled up beside him but kept his eye on Thrush.~

-Angel shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal. He wasn't sure why he was protective of Thrush. Or willing to give him a shot. Maybe cause Riot had given him one when the rest of the group wanted him just as dead. His eyes narrowed furiously on Zillah as the har walked off in a huff and the foursome were finally left alone. They all sat down together for a moment. Rebel nodded slowly ... -
I still owe you, brother. Next time you do something stupid I'll back you ... I owe Orion too and I'm sure it'll come to bite me eventually ...
-Rebel dropped down when he gazed down at Blaze. He reached out tugging him closer for a moment as he brushed the hair from his face ... -
It wasn't him, not really, but no. I ain't gonna let anyone hurt you or Kissy ...
-Angel tugged Blaze on his lap kissing the little bump on his forehead that was still healing ... -
Everyone will cool off ... eventually ...
-Elsewhere Sin put Kismet down for a nap watching him sleep before he got up and moved to find Scout. He leaned into the har from behind wrapping his arms around him ... -
Are you ok?
-He asked slowly. He was just as worried. Not as angry. But he was sick with worry. He hated that he couldn't feel safe in his own home anymore and he knew it'd be a long time before he could leave Kismet alone. He'd have to keep the har close to him and they'd have to stay close to the big house. It suddenly felt more like a prison than anything else. Thrush and Legba had stolen alot of his piece of mind. He closed his eyes burying against his mate ... -
What are we gonna do Scout?
