~Twilight was falling and the bayou was magical at this time. Thrush was sitting at the back of their house staring out over the water watching the creatures come and go. There were fireflies dancing in the air and something seemed almost perfect. That's how Corbin would find Thrush. He was sitting on the grass, legs tucked under him just staring as if Meditating. As the boy crept up on him, Thrush's head cocked slightly and he smiled a bit. His hand moved slowly and patted the ground beside him. When Corbin came in and sat down beside Thrush, the har sighed quietly.~
I'm glad you chose to stay here, Corbin... for now. I'm sure that you've seen by now that we can have our own children.
~He looked over at the boy and when he nodded yes, Thrush smiled.~
I'm scared to do that. Not because of the pain... but, because I'm afraid of what that harling would be. You sort of showed up like some dream for me. Like I imagined you and there you were...
~Thrush leaned back on his hands and then he glanced over at Corbin.~
If you wanted to stay with me... with me and Reb... you have a room in our house. You could have a home here... and you don't have to be har unless you want that... it's your decision.
~He wanted the boy to stay. Having his own harling seemed like a dream, a terrible dream. He was afraid that anything he created would be full of the evil that he had bottled up inside him. He couldn't take that chance. He'd never be able to stop the child from hurting others, always protecting it. But Corbin was different. He wasn't directly from Thrush and if he decided to become har, then Thrush and Rebel would train him like their own.~
I would really like for you to stay with us, Corbin.
~Thrush sighed some. He kinda needed it. To feel like he was like the others. He loved Rebel but he was so nervous and scared of what was deep inside him that he kept everyone except his immediate family at bay. The only one of the children that got close to him was Blaze. He knew that he needed this boy maybe as much as Corbin needed him. He'd no idea that Corbin had already spoken to Orion or that he was even considering being har. Thrush just wanted to make sure the boy understood that part of it didn't matter to him.~
