Feeling the Betrayal

~The night air cascaded across the patio of the little french motel they were all staying in. It was deep in the country and around them was beautiful countryside. Noah stood just outside in the grass. He was staring across the countryside. It was beautiful, but Noah hadn't really been paying attention to any of that. He'd been betrayed. His family, his brother, all of it. And yes Em could be furious with him, but it wasn't his fault. He was just as shocked, hell, maybe more so than the rest of them. He'd kept quiet for the better part of this little trip. He hardly spoke, even to Ash. There was something dark in the vampire that was rolling around. He could feel the pack's tension around him now, more so than before. They didn't trust him. He didn't blame them, but it didn't put him in a great position. His family was gone, having left him to deal with this mess, left him chained up in the basement of that house. They knew it would be punishment and it had been. He didn't even know where his brother was anymore. Though he knew eventually he would track him down. The worst part was he knew that his brother had been the one to really talk to Tanya. He'd not done it because he was worried about Finn and Ciaran, no, it was more about that he didn't like Noah being with Ash. The thing was, David had honestly expected Noah to just except what happened and leave with the rest of the Denali clan.~

~And when he hadn't done what David had expected, his brother turned his back on him. His brother hadn't even come down and said good bye, oh but Tanya had. And as he'd cussed her, called her every name, saying she was no better than the Volturi, she told him clearly that he needed to learn his place. He'd been left by those that had claimed to be so different, those that had promised to be more than what the Volturi were and were supposed to be his family. Yet family didn't do that to one another.~

~So here he was, standing as still as a statue, in a beautiful landscape. And he had Ash to himself all the time, he should be happy. But like all vampires, that betrayal didn't sit well in Noah's stomach. It was like a pit and he couldn't stop focusing on it. So it sort of ruined everything else around. Not to mention he wasn't exactly welcome where he was at that moment. There was a dagger in his heart from his brother. They'd always been together and now he was abandoned. He wasn't so sure that even the young wolf that he had attached himself too could understand the bond that he and his brother had. It was deeper than just family, more than just brothers. There was a deeper connection that bound them and that's what made it so much worse for Noah. He wasn't sure he could forgive his brother for this and he wasn't sure what he was going to do about it. But he knew revenge was in his fore thoughts.~

-The youngest and quietest of the wolves watched the others. He felt the tension and knew now was not the time to speak too much. He also knew he was at fault. He'd told Noah and Noah had told his brother David and it had all gone to hell. It was his fault the pack was broken and the vampires had been taken. He frowned at the thought of Jules and Finn being tortured. It scared him and worst he could see the way Ren growled at Noah. It wasn't words, just a general fuck you. The alpha that had taken him in seemed so dark now he scared him and the others seemed just as upset. He didn't even have Devin or Nikita or any of his other friends there and now there was a distance between him and Noah he hated. He'd half forgiven him for the lies about his blood. It all seemed so small now. Now he watched the beautiful vampire just standing there a million miles away as he moved in a bit closer wrapping his arms around him from behind and burying his head against him ... -

It will be ok won't it?

-He asked knowing it'd be a lie if he said yes but he just wanted to hear it for a moment. He was afraid of what this meeting with this vampire would bring and he was afraid he would lose Noah to revenge ... it seemed so unfair ... after so long he finally had a family and now everyone was in a million different places and it was all broken and he wondered if he was going to lose it all again ... he paused frowning as he stared down ... -

Don't leave me ...

~For a moment Noah didn't even respond when he was touched and the little wolf begged him to say it was going to be okay. He couldn't say that, not without lying to the wolf. But then Ash was begging that he not leave him and Noah broke. He turned and wrapped his arms around the little wolf. He was quiet for a moment.~

I'm not going to leave you, Ash.

~Noah pulled back and lifted the wolf's chin.~

Listen to me, Ash. I am not going to leave you. I just... I feel guilty about this, Ash. I know they look at me like I'm the enemy. I had no idea this was going to happen... It's just, I know my fault in this, but I want to help. Yet they act as if that's not going to happen at all, as if I'm going to betray them again.

~He sighed but then he gave a sad smile. He leaned in, cupping Ash's chin and claiming his lips roughly. He was hunting much less, so his golden orbs were darker now, more of a dark brown, almost black. And during all of this, he'd fed less off Ash. Not that the need wasn't there, but the truth was, he was so angry about what had happened, and that he was a part of it, he wasn't thinking of much of anything other than revenge.~

I know you are feeling bad too, Ash. I see it. You need to talk to them, for yourself. Not for me. You need to talk to Ren and Harlin... You have no reason to feel guilty. Promise that you will talk to them.

-Ash tossed the words back at him frowning as he pushed the vampire back pulling from him as he took a few steps from him wiping a few errant angry tears from his eyes ... -

You talk but it don't mean a thing. Words are just lies ... you never told me my blood was addictive to you ... I found out ... you think I'm stupid but I know ... and you say you won't leave me and you feel bad but you don't ... you just mad your stupid brother left you locked up .... and you thinking about him ... you don't care about Jules or Finn or anybody but yourself ...

-Ash growled angrily turning from the vampire taking a few steps from him before he gazed back ... -

You all may be alot older than me but you ain't smarter ...

-He walked off angry he loved the vampire and angry because he knew he'd break his heart-

~For a moment Noah just stared at the wolf, surprised and shocked by the sudden outburst. Noah was taken back by it and it took him a moment to react. His speed was unreal. He slammed Ash into the wall hard, those eyes dark as coal as he glared down at the little wolf.~

You are so naive about me, Ash.

~His voice was edged and he was holding the wolf tightly.~

You think I don't care about you, or that I don't care or feel badly for what happened?

~He twisted the wolf's arm up over his head, leaning in looking more feral than Ash had ever seen.~

The THING I worked for so very hard, the THING my BROTHER insisted on was shattered. Oh... I'm so fucking sorry my fucking life was completely shattered. Those that swore they were so much better than the Volturi did the EXACT thing the swore they never would. And to add salt to that wound, my BROTHER turned his back on me. And where am I Ash? Where am I?

~He snarled down at the boy before him.~

I'm with YOU and these WOLVES... I'm here... trying to make this RIGHT... If I didn't care or give a shit, I'd be hunting them down.

~His words were almost hissed through his teeth, fangs exposed. His grip slowly softened as he pulled back.~

I never said you were stupid. I never thought I was smarter than you. As for the blood, it is addictive, I knew it and still faultered. But it's not why I am with you, Ash. If you think it is, then there isn't a reason for us to be together, is there? If you have so little faith in me, then go back to your pack. I'll stay long enough to get Jules, Ciaran and Finn back... and then I'll leave...

-Ash flinched when he was slammed into the wall. He pulled back a little back afraid for the first time that the vampire would hurt him or kill him. He frowned when he saw the pain the vampire was in and by the end the wolf reached out his hand wrapping around the back of his neck tugging him in closer ... -

I don't know ...I don't know why you're with me half the time ...

-He sighed but he nuzzled into the vampire keeping him close ... -

I don't want to lose you ... I just hate how it's all turned out ...

-He frowned closing his eyes as he kept him close ... -

I'm scared it's all slipping from me

-He shook his head and pulled back cupping his face ... -
